Can we ever get away from being watched by Big Brother?

An article in the Independent in 2004 advised that we were caught on camera on average 300 times a day. One has to wonder what that figure is today?

with CCTV cameras watching us on the road, in case we infringe bus lanes, or yellow box junctions, also in supermarket and other car parks to ensure we keep within time limits. Being watched as we walk down the street etc etc.

In the Mail today is another twist (yes I know, The Mail blah, blah).

Traffic Wardens with CCTV badges at £500 a piece, apparently.

Is it time that we started taking back our civil liberties, or is this a sad indictment of the world we now live in?
